Jen Wilson Founder/Forest guide
Jen has a deep love for children, the natural world, exploring and creating. She comes from a large family who believed play was essential and time outdoors was a priority. She has travelled all over the country visiting national parks and smaller open spaces. After having a child of her own Jen began toddler and preschool hiking groups, where play was abundant and friendships formed. When it came time to send her child to school she researched the local (and not so local options). She was very inspired by Waldorf education and participated in toddler and preschool groups. She found a permanent home after volunteering at a Montessori school. After observing children in a classroom that honored their freedom of choice Jen decided to become a Montessori guide. In 2009 she received her AMS Montessori certification. She was in Montessori classrooms for 8 years. During that time she implemented outdoor classrooms, led Kindergarten classes and enriched the lives of many students. Jen holds a Bachlors Degree in ECE, child light yoga certification and is child first aid and cpr certified. Her deep love for nature and the extreme need she sees for the school systems to be fully connected with nature is exactly why this school exists.
